The CCINDLE project and Trilateral Research are pleased to invite you to the Gender-Based Violence and Online Harms Symposium, a one-day event at the Royal Society in London focused on the dynamics of gender-based violence and online harms. This event will gather guests from gender research, violence, and campaigning backgrounds in a historic setting in the heart of London.
Attendees will have an opportunity to connect with each other and discuss the international trends in and responses to gender-based violence (GBV) and related issues. Speakers will include keynotes from CCINDLE, SALVUS, CESIUM, VERITY, Herdale Digital Consulting, and the Centre for Protecting Women Online, in addition to a researcher roundtable and other opportunities for engagement.
Our expert speakers include:
- Dr Silvia Díaz Fernández from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the CCINDLE project, which explores the links between anti-gender and anti-democratic movements across Europe.
- Dr Hayley Watson from Trilateral Research on the role of AI for child safety. Hayley will discuss CESIUM, an AI tool that improves the identification and referral of vulnerable children to safeguarding authorities.
- Dr Alba Morales Tirado from the Centre for Protecting Women Online at the Open University.
- Giles Herdale, an independent expert on technology and crime investigation and Director of Herdale Digital Consulting Ltd. Giles is a Member of the UK Home Office Biometric and Forensic Ethics Group, Steering Committee Member at Validate AI, and Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute.
